ANTIQUES FOR AN EARTH-FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT

"Antiques are the green movement personified,” a friend, Stillie Mason reminds us.

“They are the ultimate affordable recyclable.   Not only do they offer the immediate pleasures of objects of desire, their purchase and ownership are good for investment and for the environment.”   CSADA shares this belief, and wanted to make this 51st Spring Show be an example of how antiques can provide a historical and ecological bridge in shaping a green future.

As part of our encompassing theme of “Live Green, Buy Antiques”, Canadian Hemlock Saplings will be given away to the first 200 people.  Our hallways, dining area and exhibit halls will all be decorated with fresh flowers and fir trees, as well as examples of beautiful and affordable antiques.  Our Spring Sponsor, Garfield Farm Museum will again be contributing much to our efforts of presenting the finest show possible, and by the very nature of their organization, reinforcing the absolute need for the preservation of our past, and our native prairie land.

Geneva Green Market, a not-for-profit group will have a small display set up in the North Room, near the serving area catered by Inglenook Pantry.

Finally, we will again be conducting our very popular 5 Minute School Sessions listed below.  These have proven to be informative and entertaining for many, and we are proud to again have them as part of our show.

5-Minute Antiques School

Spring 2008 Fox Valley Antiques Show
Attend any of our Five-Minute Antiques School sessions. Join our expert dealers for a series of mini lectures on a variety of antiques-related topics held in various dealer booths throughout the show. Brief outlines of session material and references for further information will be available to attendees.
